2008 Audi RS6 Avant |
That Audi that you see in the background on this website you can actually drive in Gran Turismo 5. Why do I love it so much? It's the craziest Station Wagon on earth. Who'd a thought you would take your kids to school in a 580 horsepower Twin-Turbocharged 5.2-liter V10 powered school wagon? You'd get to school pretty quickly as well, as the car accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds on its way to a limited top speed of 155 MPH. Without that limiter though, you can get this wagon over 190 MPH. That's staggering! Unfortunately, the real thing was only available in Europe and has ceased production to make room for the new Audi A6. So, Gran Turismo payed tribute to this crazy über wagon by putting it in their 5th installment and letting drivers test this car out. I did. It's heavy, like all wagons are. This one however, weighs 4,464 lbs. Kinda makes it unbelievable to drive it around track doesn't it? That's when tuning comes in. I managed to maximize this car from 580 horsepower to 930 horsepower. I also made it much lighter. It now weighs 3,359 lbs., goes from 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds, and can go well over 200 MPH. But besides that, I love this car because it's just so crazy. Why would you need 580 horsepower to go to Shop-Rite and pick up groceries? I guess if you wanted to get there and come back early, that would be a good thing. Anyway, if you want lots of horsepower in the shape of a wagon, then here you are: the Audi RS6 Avant. Stay tuned for my review of Gran Turismo 5 coming this weekend.
