Darth Stiggy

The STIG hates playing cards
Some say that he was found as a baby in a manger in Bethlehem, and that he's never once watched an episode of Top Gear because he was busy defending the Star Wars Republic from Darth Vader. All we know is, that's actually what he was doing. Top Gear's tame racing driver, the STIG went to a London Memorabilia fair back in November only to be involved in a stare-down fight with the Dark Lord himself. In the end, they both made up. Check out the stare-down below.

It's Someone's Birthday Today

2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG
Yep! Yesterday, actually, was Mercedes-Benz's 125th Birthday. Ever since the 1880's with the Daimler three-wheeler, Mercedes-Benz has been revolutionizing the essence and science of transportation. They've been hailed as one of the safest and best car manufacturers in the world making ideal cars like the award-winning E-Class, the insanely fast SLS, the ultra-spacious S-Class, the small yet sick C-Class, and the revolutionary CLS. To celebrate its 125th birthday, some of the old greats of Mercedes (300 Sl, 600 D, etc.) sang, or should I saw honked, happy birthday at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. It was quite interesting and somewhat funny. They also welcomed a brand new face into the museum: the all new CLS coupe. Check out the video below to see what happened.

Electric Slush

2011 Tesla Roadster 2.5 Sport
The Tesla Roadster has been sparking up good reviews as being a futuristic sports car. We know that this car accelerates faster than a V8 Audi R8. We also know that in terms of mileage, it lasts longer than most supercars. But, did you know that it handles snow better than most all-wheel drive cars? It might have the chassis of a Lotus Elise and real wheel drive, but it turns out that this car handles snow better than most cars. If you don't believe me, take a look at the clip below to see what I'm on about.

As If It Wasn't Enough

2011 CEC Lexus LFA
The Lexus LFA has already been crowned the Tokyo King of Speed, so why on earth would make it any faster? Obviously Lexus wants this car to protect its title. A Los Angeles Tuner Company CEC has recently announced a tuning program for the Lexus LFA. The program includes some new body aesthetics, new rims, and more power. In fact, they managed to squeeze 10 more horsepower out of this car and quicken shift changes so that it will accelerate much faster and have a higher top speed. That all may be so, but what we're looking at here is probably one of the most expensive tuner programs ever. The car itself costs $375,000 with a variety of options to choose from. Tuning such a car is a very expensive job. I hope it works out for them.

Evasive Action!

2011 BMW 760li High Security
There are a lot of armored cars out there now that promise the best protection from fatal explosives and gunfire. However, BMW has recently come to the point that it's not only about the car; it's about the driver. They've recently created a clip showcasing some of their armored cars and clever evasive maneuvers when coming in contact with enemy fire. It is quite interesting. Take a look at it below.

Godzilla Ready for Launch

2012 Nissan GT-R
530 horsepower. 3.8-liter Twin-Turbocharged V6 engine. 0 to 60 MPH in 2.9 seconds! This is by far the sickest Japanese import ever created. It looks like the Lexus LFA's reign as the Tokyo King of Speed will be short lived as Nissan throws in some muscle with the all new GT-R. Car magazines were recently invited to a showing of the GT-R's all new Launch Control System. There's nothing else to say about it except, if you do buy the new GT-R, make sure you hang on for dear life. Watch Godzilla take off in the video below.

150 Ways to Win

2011 Ferrari F150
Ferrari's back for the 2011 Formula One Season, and this time they're pulling out all the stops in order to bring home a trophy. This is their new team wheels, the Ferrari F150. Now, it might not look any different from the previous F1, the Ferrari F10, but Ferrari say that they've improved the aerodynamics and stabilization of this car in order to produce keen results. They've also improved on their 2.4-liter V8 engine. It now has over 800 horsepower, new architecture, and their new KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) system. This will improve stability, efficiency, and, most importantly, speed. Ferrari still has no intention of switching to a turbo-4 engine, which is what the FIA want to do for 2013. Anyway, hopefully this new flagship race car will help Ferrari get in more wins, or else they'll be in a hole that'll be pretty impossible to come out of. See the unveiling below.

Mad Merc 2x

2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG
The Sick Mad Merc returns with the same old engine, but all new styling. That means you'll still have 451 horsepower coming from the 6.2-liter V8 engine, but now you can have this raised by purchasing the Development Package which increases the power to 481 and the limited top speed from 155 to 174 MPH. As you can see, this car features all new body stylings including LED Daytime Running Lamps, LED taillights, and some new bumpers. It also looks like Carbon Fiber has suited this Mad Merc with some of this material on its mirrors and in the cockpit. Another new feature in this car is the gearbox. The last one had a 5-speed automatic. This one has a 7-speed SpeedShift MCT transmission which brings the acceleration up as well. Look for this new Mad Merc along with other new Mad Mercs at the Geneva Motor Show this March.

Hold On to Your Spleen!

2012 Noble M600
Now, normally I write posts on cars that are or may be available on our shores. This car, however, won't be available on our turf, but I really have to tell you about it. This car was initially built by 4 guys in some shed in the UK, but the outcome is certainly stunning. They call it the Noble M600 and despite being a supercar and costing well over $200,000, it's not what you call "noble".

Side View
This is by far the craziest supercar you will ever drive, that is if you live in the UK. It takes the 4.2-liter V8 engine from an old Volvo XC90 and adds two turbochargers to it. The output is a stratospheric 650 horsepower engine connected to a traditional Recaro 6-speed manual gearbox. Unlike most lightweight supercars that have bodies built with carbon fiber, the Noble's body was built with stainless steel, but the 4 guys in a shed managed to build it as light as possible. Therefore, this car weighs just 2,750 lb. Because of this weight, 0 to 60 MPH is done in 3 seconds flat on its way to a top speed of 225 MPH making it one very fast British supercar.

It Will Bite Your Foot Off
Achieving this speed and maintaing it in the corners is very hard work since Noble put no ABS in the brakes of this car. So, the wheels will easily lock up if you slam on the brakes. Also, in the corners, it is very precise. One tiny error, and you'll be spinning out or having a terrible crash. But, what makes this car better than most supercars is that it is both very hard and very easy to drive. There are three modes that you can have the car in when you're driving: Road, Track, and Race. In Road mode, the horsepower is decreased from 650 to 450, all the traction aids are on, and the suspension has been softened. When you're in Road mode, you'll feel so comfortable, it's like sitting on a fat cat. If you want to take it up a notch, you can push it up to Track mode where horsepower is increased to 550, traction aids are set to half, and the suspension gets much tighter. Then, if you want to go insane, there's Race mode, where you'll have the maximum amount of horsepower and the suspension is at its stiffest. This is truly an amazing car. It's a shame that it's only available in Britain.

Interior View
But, if you do live in Britain and have £200,000 in your pocket, you'll be able to drive one of these when it comes out in March. Before these pics were released though, Top Gear's car boar Jeremy Clarkson tested a prototype of this car on the Top Gear test track. The STIG got in it as well and set a lap time of 1:17.7 making it faster than a Pagani Zonda F. Check out the epic-ness below.

Forget Top Gear US

Top Gear UK Hosts on a Tank
Some fantastic news for Top Gear UK fans from BBC America. Series 16 of the show will air on Monday, February 7th at 9 P.M. on BBC America. So, if you didn't like Top Gear US, then you'll probably adore the original series' new season which include more explosions, the destruction of a beetle, a moving helicopter pad, a new king of the Top Gear Test Track, and an all new STIG. Plus, all of the humor and butchered metaphors made by Jezza, Captain Slow, and Hamster. This series should be quite exciting.

Team Need For Speed

2011 BMW Z4 GT3 Team NFS
If you are a racing fan, it might be a surprise to you to know that one of the most popular racing game series have created a legal FIA GT racing team with real drivers. It might also be surprising to hear that they took first place at the Dubai 24H race. Their wheels was this 483 horsepower BMW Z4 GT3 race car, which is astonishing because the cars that this car outran were a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 and the brilliantly strong Ferrari F430-GT2. It is quite surprising that a team of four drivers including Tommy Milner, Augusto Farfus, Claudio Hurtgen, and Edward Sandstrom can come from little to winning quite a big race. Well done, Team Need For Speed. Ohh, I forgot to mention that their car will be drivable in the new NFS game Shift 2: Unleashed coming this March.

Another Special Lambo

2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Bicolore
Once again, Lamborghini honors the awesomeness that is the Gallardo with another special edition. As you can see, this two-tone Bicolore is pretty much what it is: a two tone exotic car. Orange won't be the only color you'll have the base in though. There will also be blue, white, yellow, and grey. There's not much else different about it. It still has the 5.2-liter V10 producing 556 horsepower like the standard Gallardo. It still has the same top speed, 202 MPH, like the standard Gallardo. Let's just put it in simple terms: it is a standard Gallardo, only with a black roof. The cost will be no different either. But anyway, all we need to do now is wait for the real raging bull, the Aventador.

Gold is the new Green

2012 VW Touareg Gold Edition
VW is pressing all the right buttons out in Qatar. They've also released this special Gold Edition of the all-new Touareg at the Qatar Motor Show. As you can see, it's been decked out with 24K Gold pretty much everywhere: the 22-inch Rims, the trim, even in the interior, there are gold-plated trim linings and a gold-plated shift knob. That's epic!

Gold Interior
This is the most elegant that I've seen the Touareg so far. And because it's been turned to gold, expect it to have a very, very big price tag. Even with a big price tag, you still should average about 31 MPG on the big V8 Turbodiesel engine and not produce as much CO2 as a regular V8. So, if you live in Qatar, and decide to buy this SUV, you won't only be in the most expensive VW ever created, you'll be in the most expensive Green VW ever.

A Dakar Racer for the Road

2012 VW Race Touareg 3 Qatar
Somehow, all the good stuff end up overseas. I guess it's because we have too many laws and restrictions and we, ourselves, are choosy, picky, buyers when it comes to cars. In Qatar, Dubai, or Abu Dhabi though, there are rules and restrictions, but buyers there don't care what car they drive, and here's a perfect example. The Qatar Motor Show was on recently and VW showed up with this race-ready VW Race Touareg 3 Qatar. This Touareg was specially modded so that it can be used on the road, therefore making it a road-legal rally machine. It still has the 300 horsepower 2.5-liter TDI engine, but the rest of car is about the same. On the outside, it's not that much different than the regular Dakar racer except for the gold-colored BBS rims, and gold-vinyled "Race Touareg" words across each side.

Interior View
Inside, there are some changes. First, the seats aren't regular leathers, but Recaro racing buckets. The steering wheel is a racing one as well. But, other than that, the car is still somewhat luxurious. There's even a Navigation screen on the passenger side of the car. So, if you want a rally racing SUV with real rally racing pedigree, and road-ready regulations, then this is the SUV for you. It's too bad that it's only available in Qatar.

Twitter-Fueled Silver Arrow

2011 Mercedes-Benz CL550 4Matic Sport
Every day, car companies are continuously trying to improve their cars by adding more technology to them making them easier to drive. Mercedes have amped it up a notch. With new system wirings and new technology, they've come up with something that doesn't even need a driver at all: Twitter. Yep, the video you see below is the video of a man controlling a CL550 4Matic via Twitter by giving it simple commands like GO Forward, Turn Right, Turn Left, Reverse Left. What made these tweets different from others is that he added @MBrCarTest then a hash tag then his command to his tweet. He had some much, he even attempted to park it next to a very expensive Gullwinged car. See the action and science take place below.

MVP Camaro

2011 Chevy Camaro SS Convertible
So, the game has been set. The two best teams in the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers & the Green Bay Packers, have moved on to Super Bowl XLV. On February 6th in the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, watch closely as these two titanic teams collide in a quest to take home the Vince Lombardi trophy. However, this year, the trophy and a Championship ring won't be the only things that will go home with the Most Valuable Player. Every year, GM award the MVP with a special car whether it be Cadillac Escalade Hybrid or a Cadillac SRX. This year, GM's giving away some muscle: the 2011 Chevy Camaro Convertible. So, whether it be Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, or some other player from either team, whoever is named MVP is going home with a hot set of wheels.

Flowing with the Wind

2012 Pagani C9 Huarya
And here it is! After weeks of teasers and spy shots, Pagani have finally released photos of their Zonda replacement. The all new C9 Huarya still keeps the Zonda flare, but now has front LED lights, some Zonda R styling, Gullwing doors, jet-like fins, and air conditioners placed in the most reasonable of places.

Nutsack Air Conditioner
Under the hood of this italian beast is a new 6.0-liter 700+ horsepower Twin-Turbocharged AMG V12. 0 to 60 is done in 3.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 230 MPH. Not mention that this car weighs less than 3,000 lbs. making it very light. This car also comes with loads of carbon fiber, some Italian-rich luxury, and some very powerful brakes which give it the possibility of braking from 124 MPH to 0 in an eye-popping 4.3 seconds, just like the Zonda. This is an epic turnout from what car magazines describe as the potential Ferrari-beater. No word on the prices yet, but expect it to be very expensive. The car will make its official debut in Geneva in March.

Vantage Point

2011 Aston Martin V8 Vantage S
The Vantage is getting more and more powerful by the moment. Last year, we saw the V12 Vantage take form. This year, the V8 Vantage is adding an S to its mark to signify that it's now more powerful. And I really do mean more powerful. The last Vantage had 420 horsepower. This one has 430, a 10 horsepower increase from the last one. 0 to 60 is now done in 4.4 seconds with a new top speed of 189 MPH. This trumps the last generations speed of just 183 MPH. This speed is achieved thanks to Aston Martin's new 7-speed ShortShift II semi-automatic transmission. The car also borrowed some lightweightyness and stylings from its big brother, the V12 Vantage. The V8 Vantage S will be available in coupe and roadster versions...

The Power of Black

2012 Porsche 911 Black Edition
Never in Porsche history have they loved the color black this much. This special edition 911 is what they describe as "the entry-level Porsche". Now it might be $4000 more than the standard 911 Carrera, but it comes with more stuff standard than the regular Carrera. For example, the awesome Turbo II wheels are standard on this car. The other standard equipment on this car include black brake calipers, black sports leather interior, black sports steering wheel, black center console, Black Edition entry guards, Parking Assistance, Cruise Control, Porsche Communication Management with Navigation, BOSE Sound System, auto-dimming mirrors, and some rain-sensing wipers. Now, if you put all this in a regular 911 Carrera, you'll be emptying your pocket looking for $97,000 & change. The Black Edition gives you all of this for an incredibly reasonable $81,300. The only thing you'll want to pay for if you buy this car is a 7-speed PDK transmission since a 6-speed manual is standard. But other than that, it still has the 3.6-liter Flat-6 engine producing 345 horsepower. 0 to 60 MPH is done in 4.9 seconds. Flat out, it will be doing over 180 MPH. So, this certainly is an entry-level Porsche. But, it won't be here for long. Only 1,911 Black Editions will be made, so if you want to save your money on a new Porsche, you better act now.

The New King of the Top Gear Track

2011 Ariel Atom 500
And this is it. Setting a record time of 1:15.1, thrashing the 1:16.8 set by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the Ariel Atom 500 is now the new king of the Top Gear Test Track. It features an Ariel-built 3.0-liter Supercharged 500 horsepower V8 engine. 0 to 60 MPH is done in 2.5 seconds. Flat out, it will do over 200 MPH. Now, you might imagine that since this car originally had no mirrors or windshields, it would tear your face off, like it did Jeremy's. But, Ariel had kindly put one in so that your face will stay in tact at 200 MPH. What's also very interesting is that Clarkson did not test this car. In fact, this superbike-fast car was tested by the slowest man on earth, and we all know who that is. Also, you may have heard that the last STIG was sacked for writing his own book. Well, it turns out that Top Gear has retrieved a new STIG. We don't know who he is, but who is isn't is Tiff Needell. Anyway, watch the new King of the Top Gear Test Track race its way round with James May & New STIG behind the wheel.

After all this time of waiting and looking at spy shots and videos, the Spanish version of the Car Magazine has leaked the actual Pagani C9 with all the black tape and covers taken off. If this is truly the Pagani Huayra, which is its official name now,  it looks like they've overdone the design a little bit. But, nevertheless, this is a new chapter for Pagani. This Special Edition Evora is actually a prop on the set of the new James Bond film coming next year, but Lotus do have an intention of selling this car with the livery you see here for $72,000. It won't have any awesome gadgets that Bond has on his cars, except for this exclusive red metallic color that you can't get anywhere else. As for James Bond, Aston Martin fans, don't worry. Kingship

2012 Nissan GT-R
For more than 50 years, the Nissan Skyline GT-R has been crowned the Tokyo King of Speed with top speeds ranging from 135 to 193 MPH. But now, in 2011, it seems that the mighty Godzilla has finally met its match, from Toyota.

2011 Lexus LFA
You all know what this car is. It's the all-new Lexus LFA, and even though it has a V10 engine under the hood and is made from exotic material, it's still Japanese and worthy enough to take the crown as the new Tokyo King of Speed. It doesn't accelerate as fast as the GT-R with a 0 to 60 time of 3.5 seconds compared to 2.9 seconds, but since it is lighter and has a V10 engine with over 550 horsepower, it will reach 200 MPH with ease while the Nissan is still stuck at 197 MPH. The LFA also sounds a lot better and handles more easily than the GT-R. But the biggest difference by a country mile is the price. While the GT-R stands at a steady $90,000, the LFA costs a whopping $375,000. That's more than 4 times the price. But, if you really are a man of speed, money is irrelevant to you. The car is what's important.

Electric Casino

2011 Tesla Roadster Sport
Tesla is really pulling a lot of strings to let everyone drive their renowned Tesla Roadster. First, Gameloft and Facebook have teamed with them to create a contest in honor of their new racing game, Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, in which you can invite your friends to help you win one. Now, the car is the Jackpot at the Casinos. Today, The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas now has a Tesla Roadster on display and if you win the roulette there, you win the car. Sounds exciting, doesn't it? What's also so staggering is how they managed to get the car inside. Now, normally it is a danger to get some massive sports cars in because of their size and Carbon Dioxide fumes coming out of the exhaust tips. But, this is an all-electric car. Driving it inside a large Casino is like driving a Remote-Controlled Car in your house. It's unbelievable. See how the dudes at The Cosmopolitan did it in the video below.

Fast Four

2012 Ferrari FF
And here it is: Ferrari's new flagship GT car. They call it the FF which is an acronym for "Fast Four", and I think four is the keyword here. This car, like it's predecessor, the 612  Scaglietti, has four seats so you can seat your friends or your grandchildren. And, new for Ferrari, those rear seats flip down for more trunk space if you are doing some grocery shopping. This is one fast shopping cart though. It features the same 6.2-liter V12 engine that you get in a 599 GTO, only the power goes up to 651. 0 to 60 is done in an astonishing 3.7 seconds on its way to a catastrophic top speed of 208 MPH. This could possibly be the fastest GT car on earth. Also, that engine is mated to Ferrari's 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission for seamless gear changes as your driving along. As for design, this car borrows the front facial look of the beautiful Ferrari 458 Italia.

That's no Photoshop. That's real.
The rest of car was designed in a shooting brake type of style. As for drivetrain, this, ladies and gentlemen, is the first Ferrari in history to be fitted with, wait for it.....FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE! That's right! So, for the first time ever in a Ferrari, you can confidently drive fast on snow, dirt, or wet surfaces and not worry about a thing. This car is an exciting move up for Ferrari in terms of design and technology. Well done, Modena! Look for the new FF later this year.

The result is a 0 to 60 time of under 5 seconds and a limited top speed of 155 MPH. And, as always, Audi has equipped the car with Quattro all-wheel drive for better traction and some off-road capabilities. This is the all-new Mercedes-Benz SLK, and all though it might look like a women's convertible, it presses all the right buttons making it one for the men. First off, its new 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 302 horsepower, making it very powerful, and we men love power. 0 to 60 is done in 5.0 seconds on its way to a limited top speed of 155 MPH. We men love speed as well. And, since it's small, it's also very lightweight making it good in the corners. We men love gripping cars, so that's okay. It's also quite affordable, starting at under $40,000, and we men love cheap things. So, if you think that this car is girly, don't be fooled. Mercedes created this car in such a way that men can enjoy it as well. Here's a clip of the car being kitted out on a racetrack.

The engine will first debut on the X1 over in Europe. Then it will come over here on the 328i and the 528i. Prices may decrease, but BMW suggest that they will be about the same.

2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport Interceptor (Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit)
Who ever said that police officers don't like fast, expensive cars? I mean, of course they want you to watch the speed limit when you're driving, but it doesn't hurt giving your slick exotic car a whirl sometimes. Some police officers have confessed that they themselves would do that if they had a fast car. In fact, Tonight Show host, Jay Leno, was on Top Gear a few years back giving a good example of how some cops like fast cars. Let's just say it involved a few undercover officers, the streets of LA, and Jay's McLaren F1. Take a look at the whole interview with Jeremy Clarkson below.

What On Earth is This?

2011 Porsche Panamera Z Roadster
This is how crazy Japanese tuners can get. The Tokyo Auto Salon was on last weekend, showcasing a vast majority of custom imports and exotics. Some cars look quite sensible, but others are absolutely bonkers, and this is one of them. A random tuner thought it would be cool if he could turn his Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) Roadster into a Porsche Panamera Roadster.

Side View
He managed to do it, and the results are unbelievably ugly. Look at it! That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen in my life! If you're going to customize a Z34, at least put a proper body-kit and a wing on it. Don't take the front and back end of one of the ugliest cars in the world and put it on a very nice Nissan. That makes everything worse. Anyway, that's his attempt to make a Panamera Roadster, but it seems that Porsche are already working on an official one. Let's hope it's not ugly.

The Future of Efficiency

2012 Tesla Model S
Here's another Prius-alternative. Straight out of Tesla, it's the Model S, Tesla's first electric sedan. We've seen the actual car unveiled a couple of years ago. But, before it goes into production next year, the Model S will be thoroughly tested by computer programs and test drivers. The model you see here is the Αlpha stage model, which was tested last year. The βeta Stage begins this year. But, it seems the car is making progress as it is. Test drivers of the Model S have already acknowledged the car for being nimble and agile for a car of its size. They also complement it for being very comfortable and very futuristic. Tesla has released a small clip showcasing the Αlpha Stage car in action. Check it out below.

A Fiat done right

2011 Romeo Ferraris 500C Gold Edition
Only a Chinese Businessman would think of commissioning this. It's by far the most expensive Fiat 500 ever produced, valued at about $800,000. Why? It's all covered in 24K Gold. Seriously! Gold rims, gold trim, gold mirrors, gold interior, even a diamond-incrusted iPad in the center console.

Gold Interior with Diamond-Incrusted iPad
And it's not a slow 500 either. While La Doce Vita Gold and Diamonds worked the styling bits of the car, Romeo Ferraris worked on the car's performance. It may look like a regular Fiat 500C, but it now has a new Turbocharger increasing the horsepower from 120 to 200. It also has new suspension and a new tuned exhaust. Why would a Chinese Businessman want one of these? Who knows? I guess he really loves the 500.
