Four-Cylinder Rubbish!!!

2010 Ferrari F60
It seems like the Formula One League want to make some changes to the cars in 2013. Instead of having massive V8 engines power the racing cars, they suggest having turbocharged 4-cylinder engines power the cars in order to save weight, petrol, and some green. Although it seemed like a good idea to the heads of the board, one member thought it was absolute rubbish, and you can guess from the picture where he's from. Ferrari CEO and the former president of the Formula One Team Association (FOTA), Luca di Montezemolo, was outraged by the idea of having turbo four engines power the F1 cars. You have to understand that the only engines Ferrari will make are V8 engines, V12 engines, and Twin-Turbocharged V8 engines for the future Enzo replacement. They have never created a four-cylinder engine for any of their cars, and they never plan to. You'd think Mr. Montezemolo was the only against this, but it seems Mercedes-Benz has joined the Fray as well. Mercedes-Benz motorsports chief Robert Haug notes that the change in engines would be uneconomical. The reason is that if they do change to four-cylinder engines, it will cost more money and more headache designing it and tuning it while they could just stick to the ones they have now. This has been common in F1. First in the late 60's to 80's,  Formula One cars were powered by V12 engines. Then in the 90's, V10 engines were used. In the new millenium, V8's were introduced. There's been a constant dying down of cylinders since the beginning of F1, and this is not good. According to Jeremy Clarkson, when it comes to cylinders, "More is better". Let's see if Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz can have other racing teams go up against this. What do you think? Should F1 stick with V8's or is it time for a change? First Loss of the Year

2010 Cadillac SRX Turbo
I am sad to report that Cadillac has killed off the SRX Turbo. If you don't remember what this car was, you'll probably remember seeing it in an ad while 1901 by Grammy-Winning French band Phoenix was playing.

This car had the famous 2.8-liter 300 horsepower Turbocharged V6 engine that Saab also uses on the all new 9-5 and 9-4X. It was a great car, but unfortunately it wasn't doing well in the sales. In fact, there were more standard SRX sales than Turbo SRX in its first year. So, we bid adieu to the Turbocharged SRX. Now, you can get the standard SRX with the 3.0-liter 265 horsepower V6 engine for $33,830.

CTS-V Ad Frenzy!

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
If you were watching the Rose Bowl on Saturday, you would've noticed a couple of ads about two very special Caddies. They both have been hailed as the best the brand could make and they both have the same 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 engine. If you haven't guessed it by now, you weren't really watching the Rose Bowl on Saturday. But, nevertheless, Cadillac released two new ads displaying the CTS-V Sedan and Coupe in all their splendor. If you haven't seen them or want to see them again, check them out below.

OutRun Your Rivals

OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast
There are a lot of racing games out there that feature the Prancing Horse brand. Some of them are very good like Gran Turismo 5, Forza Motorsport 3, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, and Need For Speed: Shift. Some of them just disrespect the brand in everyway like Supercar Challenge and Ferrari: the Race Experience. But, there is one racing game out there that just make the brand feel absolutely brilliant, and it features you racing around the world in a Ferrari and drifting at the same time. Yep, it's OutRun. Sega has given us OutRun since the 1980's and every year it's been reborn, it's gotten better. Their best installment yet was OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast which features over 30 of the coolest Ferraris out there from the 246 Dino to the 575 Superamerica and the F430 Spider, 30 stages combined from OutRun 2 and OutRun 2 SP, and over 60 challenges including racing, drifting, slipstreaming, or just impressing your girlfriend. Honestly speaking, there's a lot of fun to be had with this game. I made a video of just how you can have this fun. Check it out below.

Girls Can Drive, Too Boys!

Sabine Schmitz
I know that there's been some stig lately about girls being the worst drivers in the world because of their bad phone habits or nervousness behind the wheel. But, truth be told; there are some good feminine drivers out there. Danica Patrick is one of them, but there's another one that you probably haven't heard before. Her name is Sabine Schmitz and Germany has heard of her. Some drivers call her "The Queen of the Nürburgring", and I can see why. She's taken first place twice in the 24 Hour Nürburgring Race in a BMW M3 GT Racer in the 1990's. Now, she serves as the popular "Ring Taxi" Driver for BMW driving the BMW M5. She's appeared on Top Gear three times; once taking Clarkson around the Nürburgring, a second time racing the Audi R8 against The STIG in a Porsche 997 GT3, and a third time receiving the Top Gear Award for Coolest German. She's really done a lot with her career as a racer. Here are some videos of her in action.

First Post of 2011: Cayenne Coupe?

2011 Merdad Cayenne Coupe
Believe it or not, but what you're looking at is the 2-door version of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. A German tuner known as Merdad was able to slice the passenger section off and only combine the front seats and the rear trunk space to create what what you're seeing now; a Cayenne Coupe. And that's not the only thing he did. He added a new bodykit, 22-inch rims, and some new turbos increasing the horsepower from 500 to 740. Merdad claims that this sporty CUV (Coupe Utility Vehicle) will do 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds. I think it will be able to do it in a lesser time considering how small and powerful it is. Look for this 2-door Cayenne this year only in Germany.
