2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

The Sick Mad Merc returns with the same old engine, but all new styling. That means you'll still have 451 horsepower coming from the 6.2-liter V8 engine, but now you can have this raised by purchasing the Development Package which increases the power to 481 and the limited top speed from 155 to 174 MPH. As you can see, this car features all new body stylings including LED Daytime Running Lamps, LED taillights, and some new bumpers. It also looks like Carbon Fiber has suited this Mad Merc with some of this material on its mirrors and in the cockpit. Another new feature in this car is the gearbox. The last one had a 5-speed automatic. This one has a 7-speed SpeedShift MCT transmission which brings the acceleration up as well. Look for this new Mad Merc along with other new Mad Mercs at the Geneva Motor Show this March.

2011 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition

It seems that the C63 has become the most popular breed of supreme performance of the AMG chain. Mercedes has recently released this special Mad Merc with a more powerful 6.2-liter 481 horspower V8 engine. 0 to 60 is now done in 4.4 seconds, but the top speed stays the same: limited to 155 MPH. There's also an exterior change in this car. It now dons a coat of Magno Alliante Grey paint along with a new Carbon Fiber rear lip spoiler, Carbon Fiber mirror shells, 19-inch black alloy rims, and red brake callipers. This Merc definitely looks rather mean, which is why it's only available in Canada. Only 30 Affalterbachs will be made, each costing $81,000 Canadian. So, if you live in Canada, and have this car, you will be able to enjoy the monstrous sound of the Merc's V8 engine while listening to the deep bellow of an old Moose.

A New Era of AMG

Say hello to the all new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. It now has a new face with new bumpers and a new interior. LED lights now come standard in the front and rear lights. It now looks more aggressive than it did before, and it should since it will be powered by an old heart. Instead of using AMG's all new 5.5-liter Twin-Turbocharged V8 engine, the C63 will get an upgraded version of its old 6.2-liter Naturally Aspirated V8. Lets hope it really is more powerful than it was before or it won't make a lot of sense. The Twin-Turbo V8 engine, Mercedes says, will instead be put on the C63 AMG Coupe coming in the fall of next year. Anyway or another, this is one serious Mad Merc.
